Nigerian street-pop artist Damo K returns with an energetic new single titled “Fire Fighter,” following his eight-track project “Just A Messenger.”
This one marks his first solo release since that EP dropped, and the timing feels deliberate. Damo K first broke through back in 2022 with “Grind,” a record that exploded after Zlatan Ibile co-signed him and jumped on the remix – and that early momentum has clearly stuck with him since.
Producer Fizzybeats handles the beat here, building something catchy enough to suit Damo K’s natural comfort on record. He finds the groove, without forcing anything, lets the groove do most of the work. His melodies throughout are light and effortless.
Nothing about “Fire Fighter” tries to overcomplicate itself. The arrangement stays polished but simple, which actually plays to Damo K’s strengths rather than against them.
