Theophilus Sunday the highly regarded Nigerian gospel singer, comes through with a heavenly single titled Earthen Vessel

Theophilus Sunday was born on May 9, 1987, in Dekina, Kogi State. He started as a church drummer before growing into a worship minister whose live performances have become known for creating genuine spiritual encounters. His ministry known as 1Spirit has built a community around the idea that worship is an invitation rather than a performance. So when he steps into the studio, that same spirit carries over into every record he releases.

“Earthen Vessel” draws its foundation from 2 Corinthians 4:7 — the scriptural reminder that human beings carry divine treasure in fragile, imperfect forms. The song centres on surrender. It asks the Spirit to pray and move through a vessel that recognises its own limitations. That kind of theological depth wrapped in accessible worship language is something Theophilus Sunday does better than most of his contemporaries in the Nigerian gospel space.

The production stays intentionally restrained. Collins builds a gentle, atmospheric arrangement that gives the vocals room to breathe without any instrumentation competing for attention. So the message never gets buried under the music. It sits at the front of every second of the record.

“Earthen Vessel” has already crossed one million plays on Audiomack since its release. That number tells you the record connected with people who needed exactly what it was offering
