The massively incredible South African musician and recording artist known as Maero drops this marvelous tune dubbed Pelo Yame

“Pelo Yame” means my heart in Sesotho — and that emotional core sits quietly underneath what is otherwise one of the more energetic records on the album. Maero does not always need to announce the feeling loudly. Sometimes he lets the groove carry it, and on this record the production does exactly that while the four featured voices add layers on top.

Jinger Stone has been one of the more consistent collaborators on The Musical Experience. He also appears on “Rapelang” alongside MDU aka TRP and Mashudu, so his creative relationship with Maero runs through multiple moments on the project. Sfarzo Rtee brings his street-rooted Amapiano energy to the record.  Seventie — who also appears on “Ngazi Sola” and “Thonga Lami” — continues to be one of the threads that ties the whole album together. Moscow on Keys rounds out the lineup. And adds an instrumental dimension that gives “Pelo Yame” a slightly different feel from the other tracks around it.

What stands out about this record within the album is how well the five energies coexist without competing. Maero understands the arrangement. He builds his productions with enough space for everyone to breathe, and “Pelo Yame” benefits from that instinct clearly.

The Musical Experience is shaping up to be one of the more complete Amapiano projects of 2026.
