The original “Life Is Slo” already had momentum behind it – EF Moon delivered a memorable live performance on Glitch Sessions alongside it, and that exposure built real anticipation for whatever came next. So bringing Ayo Maff in as the featured voice for the second version was not a random decision. It reads like a calculated step up – pairing an introspective record with an artist whose own stock has been rising fast in Nigeria’s street-pop lane.
Ayo Maff fits the mood of this record well. His rise from a 2023 debut to a “Dealer” record with Fireboy DML and consistent Empire-backed output in 2026 shows an artist who knows how to deliver across different emotional registers. But “Life Is Slo II” pulls him slightly away from his comfort zone – and he handles it. The emotional storytelling around patience, resilience, and grinding through difficult circumstances is not his usual territory, yet his verse does not feel forced.
Both artists also released teaser content before the track dropped, which means their respective audiences arrived already primed rather than discovering it cold. That kind of pre-release build usually separates strategic releases from rushed ones.
EF Moon stays centred throughout – the addition of Ayo Maff widens the record’s reach without shifting the spotlight away from the original vision.
