South African Gqom artist Mihlali The Guy makes his biggest comeback yet on “Wo Lo,” uniting Dankie Boi, Mr Thela, Cairo CPT, Sino Msolo, and Konke on one six-minute club record under Universal Music South Africa.

This marks Mihlali The Guy’s first listed single since 2023’s “Mama Se Khaya” – so the comeback carries real weight. But pulling five names of this calibre into one record is not a casual move. Mr Thela – born Simphiwe Sihawu in Gugulethu and signed to Universal Music Group – brings a Platinum-certified Gqom and Sgubhu legacy that gives “Wo Lo” immediate industry credibility.

Cairo CPT adds the Cape Town underground depth his catalogue consistently delivers. Dankie Boi brings KwaZulu-Natal energy. Then Sino Msolo and Konke provide the vocal dimension that gives the six minutes its emotional warmth.

The production allows the different voices to enter gradually while keeping the rhythmic drive consistent throughout. So the extended runtime never drags. Each artist arrives at the right moment rather than competing for the same space simultaneously. That kind of structural patience is what separates a well-constructed Gqom collaboration from a crowded one.

The record has pushed Mihlali The Guy’s profile further, becoming his leading song on Apple Music and gaining traction across South African dance music playlists. So the comeback delivered exactly what six artists on one record needed to deliver – a result bigger than any one of them could achieve alone.
