Multi-talented South African musician and artist known as Orchid Musiq drops this marvelous banger titled Hambe (Endleleni)
Hambe means go, more or less, and Endleleni points to the road itself. Fitting then that the beat feels like motion, steady bassline rolling forward, log drum keeping pace without ever speeding up.
Nothing vocal-heavy here either. It’s mostly instrumental, texture doing the storytelling instead of words. A few chants drift in occasionally, more atmosphere than lyric.
There’s a solitary feel to it too, one producer, one idea, no crowd of voices pulling it in different directions. Just a road, and something moving steadily along it.
