Owerri-based singer Izztopik steps forward with “Ogechi,” produced by Skimzea Beatz – and the record adds another confident chapter to a catalogue building real momentum.
“Ogechi” is an Igbo feminine name meaning “God’s time” – and the title carries the warmth of someone addressing a specific person with genuine feeling. Izztopik does not make it abstract or conceptual. He stays personal throughout, which keeps the record grounded in the melodic Afrosounds territory he moves through most naturally.
Skimzea Beatz keeps the arrangement smooth and unhurried. So the vocal sits front and centre without the production competing for attention.
