Nigerian Mavin Records artist Lovn comes through with “KONSE,” another solo cut off his nine-track debut project “SOUNDBENDER.” By the time this one arrives, Lovn’s already moved through different sides of the sound he’s been building since joining the label in 2025.
Lovn’s kept the attention squarely on himself here after a stretch of collaborations elsewhere on the album, letting his own vocal character carry the record without needing a guest. “KONSE” stays within the project’s broader Afrobeats framework while leaving space for the rhythmic phrasing tied to his Fuji and Apala roots. That range between contemporary Afrobeats and older Nigerian styles remains one of the clearer parts of his identity.
The production stays concise and uncluttered throughout, matching a project where most ideas get presented without unnecessary stretching. Nothing here overstays its welcome. The arrangement keeps melody, rhythm and vocals playing off each other without ever feeling crowded.
Lovn leads with genuine vocal presence, delivering the record with a natural, easy-to-follow flow throughout. His approach stays confident, comfortable carrying the whole song on his own. He sounds fully invested in showing off this side of his range.
Lovn keeps the storytelling light, letting melody carry as much weight as the words themselves. It reads like a genuine, easy addition within a much bigger, varied project.
“KONSE” works because Lovn commits fully to that organic, rhythmic energy throughout. Nothing here feels rushed or half-hearted. It plays like a fitting solo entry within his debut “SOUNDBENDER” project.
