Serial hit maker TML Vibez stays solo on “Mashè,” the tenth track on his album, with fresh production from Lil Gee.
After a run of busy tracks, this one pulls the focus back to his voice. Lil Gee handled the beat, and it gives TML Vibez a different setting from the Godomarr material elsewhere on “A Street Kid’s Diary (Disc 2).” The melodic street-pop feel still comes through, so the song sounds new without sounding like someone else’s record.
The placement helps the album breathe. “CnF (Gbewa)” brings the speed at track nine, and “Mashè” follows with a solo cut before “Allow Me” with Lasmid arrives at track eleven. So the flow moves from fast, to focused, to a guest, which keeps the second half interesting.
A big producer list helps too. Ballertosh, Deobeats, Japh Kenti, Demmy, 7eentrill, and Lil Gee all show up across the 16 tracks. TML Vibez can test different sounds, yet his voice ties everything together. That is not easy, and it says something about how far he has moved since shorter releases.
He is also a Vibez Inc act, which gives this album extra weight in the Nigerian street-pop scene.
