Quavo and Takeoff’s 2022 COLORS performance of “Hotel Lobby” just went massively viral again, this time as an AI face-swap trend that’s taken over TikTok. The performance, filmed under their Unc & Phew moniker, suddenly found a whole new audience four years after Takeoff’s death.

That original COLORS session carries real weight now. Quavo and Takeoff, uncle and nephew by blood, stood against that bright orange backdrop trading verses off one single microphone, right as Migos breakup rumors swirled around them.

The AI trend swapped their faces for everyone from Barack Obama to Walter White to Spider-Man, and the format spread fast because the original clip’s back-and-forth dynamic made it perfect for memes. People kept finding new combinations, cats included.

Quavo leaned into the moment himself. He reposted the untouched 2022 video, calling it “The Original,” and celebrated going viral with Takeoff all over again. Victoria Monét even linked up with him for a non-AI recreation of the format.

Murda Beatz, Keanu Beats, and Fabio Aguilar produced the original track, which Quavo and Takeoff released back in May 2022 off their album “Only Built for Infinity Links.” That project dropped just weeks before Takeoff’s death later that year.

By the end, this resurgence plays like one of those strange internet moments that ends up honoring something real. A performance built on family bond keeps finding new life, and that says something about how deep this one actually lands.

Worth revisiting the original clip if you haven’t seen where this whole trend started.
