Zambian star Yo Maps links up with South African powerhouse Makhadzi on a new record titled “It’s Over.” Both artists shot the video in South Africa, and fans across the region have waited for it.
Yo Maps, born Elton Mulenga in Kasama, built his name on soulful melodies and steady hits. His albums “Komando,” “Try Again” and “My Hero” paved the way for this moment.
“It’s Over” also sits on his fourth album, “Vibes on Vibes.” That 16-track project pulls in Mafikizolo, Harmonize, Rotimi, Muzo Alphonso and Bobby East.
Makhadzi brings a different energy to the mix. Her loud, vibrant sound has won her fans across the continent, and she rarely plays it safe.
So expect a blend of Zambian melody and South African rhythm. Yo Maps likely brings the smooth hook, while Makhadzi drives the dance energy.
The title suggests a breakup or a closing chapter. Still, the beat probably keeps things upbeat, since both artists love turning heartbreak into movement.
Overall, “It’s Over” feels like a regional crossover built for the dance floor and the heartbroken at once. It’s catchy, bright and easy to replay.
