Daev links up with Zambian rap pioneer Slapdee on a new record titled “Single.” These two already share history, since Daev featured on Slapdee’s “Mother Tongue.”
That track came off Slapdee’s 2020 album of the same name, a record that celebrated Zambian culture and languages. So this reunion builds on chemistry that already works.
Slapdee, born Mwila Musonda, carries serious credentials. He became the first Zambian rapper to win at the Ngoma Awards, and he built the “Black na White” album series.
He also founded XYZ Entertainment, so he knows how to back rising talent. A feature from him tells listeners Daev deserves attention.
The title feels cheeky and direct. It’s relaxed, confident and made for repeat plays.
