Kenyan Kikuyu gospel artist Nganga Wa Kabari keeps his momentum going with “Muroconoka,” a chart-climbing record.
The record has already made noise on Kenya’s YouTube charts. “Muroconoka” has reached No. 9 on that chart. The official video has also appeared on trending lists more than once. So “Nganga Wa Kabari Muroconoka” comes with real audience proof behind it.
That same chart saw Diamond Platnumz overtake Kapitani for the top spot. So “Muroconoka” sits among major names. A Kikuyu gospel record holding that space says something about the pull of local-language gospel.
Fans have also taken the song to TikTok. Lyric clips that carry the song’s name and the artist’s name keep circulating. That kind of fan-made sharing helps a Kikuyu-language record travel beyond its home audience.
Gospel listeners often replay songs with a strong message. Lyric clips on TikTok hint that fans want to learn the words. Meanwhile, YouTube chart placement keeps the record visible. Together, those signals point to a song listeners revisit.
Nganga Wa Kabari works in Kikuyu gospel, yet his writing often asks hard questions. His single ‘Kiugo Kia Ngai’ critiques commercialization of religion and abuse of scripture. Earlier, “Kanitha Gutiri Ngai” celebrated God’s uniqueness and faithfulness.
He has also joined other gospel voices. Isaiah Ndungu featured him on “Aciari Akwa,” a song about love and resilience. So his name keeps appearing across Kikuyu gospel releases.
