Nigerian singer Hynezz brings rapper Zyno TopBoy onto “Chidinma,” the sixth track of his debut project “The Bishop (Side A).”

The title is a well-known Igbo name that means “God is good,” so the song starts with warmth before a word is sung. Hynezz has not shared a detailed story for it. Early write-ups focus on the pairing instead, with Hynezz handling the melody and Zyno TopBoy adding a rap verse. That split gives the record variety. One voice carries the hook, and the other brings the street-inspired punch.

“The Bishop (Side A)” has ten songs, and it mixes solo records with team-ups across contemporary Nigerian sounds and indigenous rap. “Ife Ga Di Nma” with Spyki sits on the same project, so Hynezz clearly builds on Igbo phrases for his titles. M.A Records released the set. Placing “Chidinma” at the sixth slot puts it right in the middle, where a guest feature helps shift the mood.

Zyno TopBoy has a track record of his own. Earlier songs like “Top Boy” and “Ozo” built his name as an indigenous rapper and wordsmith, so his verse gives a debut project extra credibility. For a new name like Hynezz, a guest like that can open doors to a wider rap audience.

The project is still new, so the best way to judge it is to listen in order. Fans of Igbo-flavoured pop and rap should find plenty here.
