Nigerian comedian turned music act Broda Shaggi brings a fun new live record titled “DUPE (LIVE SESSION).” The title looks like a name, so it sounds like a song for a special lady.
Broda Shaggi made his name with skits that shaped Nigerian online comedy. Now he keeps pushing into music, so fans already expect a bit of drama. A live session also lets him show a different side.
The band sets a warm, bouncy groove with live drums and loose guitar lines. Bass walks along behind them, while light keys fill the gaps. It sounds like a small stage with a happy crowd.
Broda Shaggi sings in a playful, rough voice. He doesn’t chase perfect notes, but the mood feels honest. His jokes slip between lines, so you can hear him grinning.
The lyrics circle around one woman and his full attention on her. Pet names and street talk keep the message light, though a real feeling shows through. Because the hook is simple, a crowd can sing it back.
