America’s trap’s finest musician, popularly known as Future drops this exquisite banger titled Alice
The title invites an obvious reference – Alice in Wonderland. The story of someone falling into a world that operates on completely different logic from the one they know. For Future, that metaphor maps cleanly onto his own lifestyle. The world he inhabits – the money, the fame, the excess, the emotional complexity operates on rules that most people looking in from outside cannot fully decode. “Alice” feels like Future acknowledging that gap without apologising for it.
What makes the record interesting is how it sits within the album’s second half. By track thirteen, the listener has already moved through the hard front section and arrived at the more reflective middle stretch. “Alice” arrives just after “Radio” and before “Off the Hinge,”. The record occupies that in-between zone comfortably without committing fully to either direction.
The production wraps around Future’s delivery with a dark, slightly disorienting atmosphere that suits the Alice reference perfectly. Nothing about the record feels grounded in conventional reality. It floats between moods the way a dream does – present and vivid but never quite stable enough to hold onto.
Critics have described “Alice” as one of the more rewarding records on The Real Me for repeat listeners. The more you sit with it the more layers reveal themselves. S
