ParisMiller joins forces with Ledimo and DJ Janisto on “The Return Of Bolobedu Sound,” and the title carries more meaning than just a song name.
Bolobedu music has deep cultural roots in Limpopo, and DJ Janisto has been one of its longest-serving advocates since the “Foundation Of Bolobedu Session” projects back in 2011. Also, his “Six Gun” album further cemented his position as a key voice in keeping this sound alive and visible. So having him on a record literally titled “The Return Of Bolobedu Sound” feels completely earned rather than just symbolic.
ParisMiller brings his Lekompo production background into the mix. His recent work on “Motho Wao Kwafa” with Master Chuza and Jay Eazzy showed he understands how to blend modern production with traditional Limpopo sounds. But “The Return Of Bolobedu Sound” goes even further in that cultural direction.
Ledimo rounds out the three-way collaboration, adding vocal texture that suits the organic, roots-driven feel of the record naturally.
