Tanzanian artist Boshen drops a solo single called “Tena,” adding another record to what has been a steady run of releases this year.
“Tena” means “again” in Swahili, and Boshen’s recent catalogue shows why that word fits his current momentum well. Also featured alongside “Sweet” with Haitham Kim and Kelechi and “Raha” earlier this year, this solo record gives him space to step forward alone without sharing the spotlight.
Boshen keeps building at his own pace, which is actually one of the more underrated qualities in East Africa’s current music landscape. Consistency without chasing noise tends to travel further in the long run.
