Slovakian singer-songwriter and trained dancer ADÉLA announces her debut studio album “PRIMA” via Capitol Records – 11 tracks executive produced by Dylan Brady of 100 gecs and hitmaker Blake Slatkin.
The title carries personal meaning. In ballet and dance culture, “prima” denotes the first and finest position – so ADÉLA is not just naming an album. She is declaring an intention. Because a debut album named PRIMA does not leave room for modesty. It stakes a position before the music even plays.
The production team behind this project is what makes the announcement genuinely exciting. Dylan Brady built his reputation with 100 gecs by pushing pop music into strange, chaotic, maximalist territory. Blake Slatkin meanwhile has co-written massive commercial records across multiple genres. So the combination of those two production sensibilities – one experimental, one commercially sharp – gives PRIMA a framework that could genuinely surprise people expecting a standard alt-pop debut.
The lead single “Ain’t In LA” sets the tone early. It captures ADÉLA’s fearless personality while exploring themes of identity and staying rooted in yourself despite external pressures.
