DJ Junior Hassa pulls together Kalifah Aganaga, Eddy Kenzo, Winnie Nwagi, Lil Pazo, and Weasel on the “Nassanga Remix,” and Uganda’s music industry hasn’t seen a lineup like this in a while.
The story behind this remix is actually what makes it interesting. “Nassanga” was already experiencing a TikTok resurgence, pulling in a whole new generation of listeners. Kalifah Aganaga explained his reasoning directly: he watched how Nigerian artists unite on hit songs to push them internationally, and decided Uganda needed that same energy. Also, the official video directed by Simon SPK had behind-the-scenes clips spreading across TikTok and Facebook before the full release even landed.
Not everyone agreed though. Some fans accused Aganaga of spoiling the original. But with Eddy Kenzo’s global appeal, Winnie Nwagi’s powerful vocals, Weasel’s legendary status, and Lil Pazo rounding things out, the remix clearly has enough firepower to carry the argument on its own.
Over 68,000 downloads and 71,000 plays since dropping confirms the audience showed up regardless of the debate.
