ATK MusiQ taps Soulful G and SemiLanga on “Bawo,” one of the most talked-about cuts on their comeback double album “The Return.”
“Bawo” means “Father” in Xhosa. So the track carries devotional energy from the first note. But ATK MusiQ keep it rooted in their private school Amapiano framework rather than pushing it into full gospel territory. Because of that balance, the record works on both a spiritual and a sonic level without sacrificing either.
