Multitalented artist and great stage performer MÖRDA drops “Asante IV,” the fourth chapter in his celebrated album series.
Born Bongani Mohosana in Pretoria, MÖRDA first made his name as part of the duo Black Motion before going solo, and the Asante series has become deeply personal since it started, named after his daughter Asante. This new 19-track project brings in Mo-T, Brenden Praise, Pex Africah, Uncle Didi, Napelion, Meguel, 2Melo, DJ Zinhle, Dr Moruti, Chronical Deep, and LaTique, which is a lineup that shows how far his sound has spread across the Amapiano and Afro house scene.
DJ Zinhle plays a significant role on the project too, which makes sense given their real-life relationship, and that personal thread runs through the whole rollout.
Nothing about his sound feels rushed here, he still takes his time letting grooves develop naturally across a project this long.
With this many collaborators, the album covers a lot of emotional ground without losing its core identity. Each featured artist adds their own texture, but MÖRDA’s production stays the connecting thread throughout. That consistency is what’s made the Asante series feel like one continuous story instead of four separate albums.
“Asante IV” works because it keeps growing without abandoning what made the earlier entries special. It’s personal, it’s danceable, and it never feels like MÖRDA is just going through the motions this many albums in. That’s rare four projects deep into the same series.
