Ohio rap star Trippie Redd links up with Sexyy Red on a booming ATL Jacob-produced collab titled “Meet The Redds.”
This one was always going to happen. Both artists share a last name, both carry the same unfiltered energy, and so the title “Meet The Redds” feels less like wordplay and more like an overdue introduction. But the record is fresh because the roles are perfectly split. Sexyy takes the hook with her usual no-apologies delivery, while Trippie moves through the verses in his more melodic, laid-back mode. So neither one overpowers the other.
ATL Jacob handles the production, and the beat reflects that. Hard percussion, ominous synths, and just enough rage-rap energy to keep the temperature up throughout. It is not a warm record – but it was never supposed to be. Trippie raps about his all-black Florida house and filling the swimming pool with drank, and that detail alone tells you this song is fully in character.
The bigger picture is what makes “Meet The Redds” worth paying attention to. This is a pre-album teaser for Trippie’s sixth studio album, NDA, which drops August 14. Because of that, the song also works as a mood-setter – it shows where Trippie’s head is and what to expect when the full project lands.
