South African hitmakers Cooper SA and Tyler ICU keep the momentum going with “Weekend,” bringing in Thama Tee and Tiiger for another entry off “One Day in Tembisa.”

This one stands out for its simplicity. Where other cuts on the EP stack four or five featured voices, “Weekend” trims the lineup down to just two guests, and that restraint changes the feel entirely. There is more room to breathe here, and the title alone signals exactly what mood Cooper SA and Tyler ICU were chasing – lighter, looser, built for leisure rather than intensity.

Thama Tee and Tiiger fit that mood well. Both artists bring a smoother, more melodic energy compared to some of the more vocal-heavy collaborations elsewhere on the project, and that shift gives “Weekend” its own identity within the EP rather than blending into the pattern set by tracks like “Khoma Lah” or “International.”

Cooper SA and Tyler ICU’s production instincts show clearly here too. Rather than filling every open space, they let the groove carry the record, trusting Thama Tee and Tiiger’s vocal chemistry to do the heavy lifting. That confidence in restraint is becoming a defining trait of their work throughout “One Day in Tembisa.”

Stream “Weekend” and tell us in the comments – is this the most relaxed cut on the whole EP for you?
