Billirano brings the incredible Ruhdee in for “Away,” and there’s a restlessness sitting under the whole thing.
Away could mean a lot, escaping, distance, just needing space from something. Billirano doesn’t pin it down right off. Ruhdee’s involvement adds weight here too, given how well she carries that quieter, searching energy on her own tracks.
Guitar leads the instrumental, soft and a little unresolved, percussion barely tapping underneath. Nothing about the beat wants to sit still. Feels built for movement, matches whatever pull is driving the title.
Billirano sings with a kind of tired urgency, not rushed exactly, but definitely not settled either. There’s tension in how he holds certain notes, like he hasn’t fully decided to leave yet. That hesitation actually makes the whole thing feel more honest.
Ruhdee enters and softens the edge slightly, her voice carrying that same fragile quality she brought to “Hope.” Doesn’t compete with Billirano’s lead, just sits alongside it. Two voices circling the same restlessness from slightly different angles.
“Away” doesn’t resolve into a clean decision by the end, and that’s probably the point. Billirano and Ruhdee leave the pull unanswered. Sometimes wanting to leave is the whole song.
