Ghanaian rap heavyweight Amerado links up with Nigerian Afropop star Skales on a fresh cross-border single called “Fountain.”
Skales already has proof his music travels far beyond Nigeria. “Shake Body” resurfaced in 2025 after a viral clip of footballer Lamine Yamal reignited global interest, landing him on Billboard’s top 50 Afrobeats songs list. So bringing him onto a Ghanaian record only strengthens the international pull “Fountain” already has.
Amerado built his reputation on sharp storytelling and freestyle rap skill, but he’s shown real range lately through collaborations with Black Sherif, Strongman, and King Paluta. “Fountain” pushes that versatility further, mixing Ghanaian hip-hop poetry with Skales’ Nigerian party bounce. Also, the record leans into abundance and unfiltered enjoyment rather than heavy subject matter.
Upbeat percussion, warm keyboard melodies, and a rolling bassline keep the whole thing danceable from start to finish. West African fans have been asking for exactly this kind of feel-good crossover.
