Nigerian Afropop singer Victor AD closes out his new EP “The Therapist” with “Monaco,” a smooth record that trades hustle-anthem energy for confident reflection.

Real name Victor Eugene Adere, the Delta State-born artist first broke through with “Wetin We Gain” in 2018, a song built around materialism and the daily grind of getting by.

That record still gets called the theme song for the average Nigerian youth. “Victor AD Monaco” moves in a related but different direction. Where “Wetin We Gain” wrestled with the struggle, “Monaco” sits comfortably on the other side of it, celebrating progress instead of chasing it.

Mellow percussion and warm melodies carry the arrangement, giving Victor AD’s expressive vocals plenty of room to breathe. The lyrics touch on lifestyle, ambition and the reward that comes after years of grinding, so the mood stays polished rather than aggressive.

“Monaco” sits alongside tracks like “War” featuring Wizard Chan and “Level” on “The Therapist,” an EP that leans into introspection more than club-ready hooks. For longtime fans who followed Victor AD from his early hustler-anthem days, this feels like the natural next chapter.
