Nigerian singer and songwriter Victor AD has joined forces with Babyboy AV on a feel-good new single titled “Level.”
The connection between these two artists goes back further than a phone call. Babyboy AV once revealed in a podcast interview that he was squatting at Victor AD’s home before he released “Big Thug Boys” — the 2021 single that peaked at number five on the Billboard Triller Chart and became the number one all-time most Shazamed Nigerian track in Nigeria. Victor AD essentially gave a struggling young artist a place to stay at one of the most critical points of his career. So “Level” is not just a collaboration between two rising Nigerian acts. It is a reunion between an artist and the person who helped keep him going.
That context gives the song’s theme — progress, self-belief, and gratitude — an entirely different weight. Both artists are singing about making it to a better place, and they have both lived that story firsthand. Babyboy AV went from borrowing a floor to headlining the Afro Beach Festival in Ghana. Victor AD has maintained a consistent career that includes collaborations with Timaya, Rude Boy, and Patoranking.
“Level” arrives as a celebration of that journey. It does not need to be explained. The history speaks for itself.
