Natasha K and Nolly M join Mjolisi on “Ngang’gejile,” and the mood lifts a little further after “Kuphelele.”

The title carries a sense of not being spared, something still catching up to him even after finding closure. Three tracks in now, and it turns out that settling never fully sticks.

Bass keeps that fuller presence from the last record, log drum a touch livelier underneath it. Percussion moves a bit more here too, less stillness than “Kuphelele” allowed.

Mjolisi’s delivery carries a mix of weariness and honesty, admitting something’s still getting to him. Natasha K adds a smoother layer over that, while Nolly M brings more edge, the two women pulling the track in slightly different directions.

Nothing here resolves as cleanly as “Kuphelele” did. It just keeps moving, imperfect but honest about it.

Three records deep with Mjolisi now, and the story keeps refusing to sit still.

Play “Ngang’gejile” when closure turns out to be shorter-lived than it seemed.
