Malawian music star Kell Kay goes for a more reflective approach on “Ndalira,” a soulful Afro-R&B release that looks at love, pain and the process of dealing with heartbreak.
Released through ONErpm as his second major release this year, the song stands in sharp contrast to “Wale,” his upbeat hit from earlier in 2026. BFB produced the track, while Tricky Beats handled mixing and mastering, giving the record a clean, uncluttered foundation for Kell Kay’s vocals to sit over.
That expressive delivery has become one of Kell Kay’s defining traits since he won Nyasa Music Awards for Best R&B Artist back in 2017 and 2018. His phrasing here stays calm and personal rather than dramatic, communicating the message without needing a busy arrangement to prop it up. The title itself echoes his 2022 hit “Mayo Mayo,” which used the phrase “Ndalila ntima mwanga” to explore similar heartbreak themes.
Fan demand pushed the official video release forward ahead of schedule, and it’s already picked up hundreds of thousands of views.
