Zambian artist DJ Cosmo teams up with Malawian dancehall star Malinga on “My Queen,” an upbeat dedication to women.
Zambia and Malawi meet in the middle here. DJ Cosmo, who also goes by Umupilipili, brings contemporary Zambian Afro sounds. Malinga adds the energetic Dancehall edge he is known for. So the record feels like a real cross-border link-up, not two names on one beat.
Shinko Beats produced the track, and that helps. The Zambian hitmaker builds a dance-ready groove that gives both artists room to keep their own styles. Nobody has to bend to fit the other. As a result, the song stays lively from start to finish.
The two are not strangers either. Malinga also appeared on the “Sky Pombe (Remix)” with DJ Cosmo, Jae Cash, Dizmo, and others, so the chemistry was already there.
An official music video landed with the audio, which stretches the song’s party energy onto the screen. For anyone who wants a feel-good tribute to the queens in their life, this one fits.
