Nigerian artist and songwriter TML Vibez goes solo again on “Burst My Head,” the fifteenth track on his album, with Busy Pluto producing.
Busy Pluto is a fresh name on this project, and his résumé is solid. He produced Famous Pluto’s “Na Scra,” which debuted at number eight on the TurnTable Top 100. He also made Zerrydl’s “Back to Back,” which reached number 21 on that chart and landed on Billboard’s Afrobeats Songs list. So TML Vibez picked a producer who knows how to make a record travel.
The beat stays in an Afrobeats setting that supports his melodic delivery. It does not crowd him, and it gives him space to carry the song alone. That fits the placement. “Burst My Head” and “Radio” are the last two tracks, both solo, and they bring the 16-track album to a close without any guests.
There is a nice symmetry in that. The album opened with TML Vibez alone on “Eyes On Me,” and it finishes the same way. In between, he shared the mic with Vory, Victony, Ayo Maff, Shoday, Lasmid, Blaqbonez, and Mavo. The solo bookends remind you whose diary this is.
The big list of producers also helped him test different sounds without losing his voice. This late-album cut shows that clearly.
Blast “Burst My Head” and tell us – is TML Vibez at his best when he goes solo?
