Cartoon47 links up with Mtalibani Halisi on a new one titled “Maskani.” Not much documented history exists on either name yet.
“Maskani” translates to “hangout spot” or “base” in Swahili. That title alone signals something grounded in everyday street life and community.
Not much verified catalog exists for either artist. This one arrives fresh, without a built-in track record to lean on.
Expect the production to lean into East African hip hop or Bongo Flava territory. That kind of grounded storytelling resonates deeply in East African hip hop culture.
By the end, “Maskani” plays like a street-rooted record built around real community identity. Grounded, rhythmic, easy to connect with.
Add this one to your East African rotation and let the street energy settle in.
