Tanzanian hip-hop star Darassa pairs with legendary Taarab singer Khadija Kopa on “YE’,” now with an official clip.

The song first came out on September 24, 2026, and the clip followed. CMG presents the visuals, and the video was shot in Dar es Salaam. It has also climbed YouTube’s trending lists in Tanzania and Kenya, which shows the pairing travels beyond one country.

The collaboration joins two generations and two traditions. Darassa brings his hip-hop and Bongo Flava style, with the conversational rap delivery that fans know. Khadija Kopa brings Taarab, with classical Swahili phrasing and the emotional depth that tradition values. So one record carries both the modern street and the coastal stage.

The subject is love. Darassa voices romantic feelings in plain, direct bars, while Khadija Kopa answers with richer, more poetic language. That contrast keeps the song from sounding like a standard feature. Each voice plays by its own rules, yet the two fit together.

This is not Darassa’s first cross-genre move. He has also teamed up with Harmonize on “Love Design” and with Khaligraph Jones on “Beginning.” Bringing in a Taarab icon pushes that habit toward Tanzania’s own coastal music roots.

Overall, “YE'” suits listeners who like old and new sounds in one place.
