Thirteen-year-old Benue artist Iceking Ochacho delivers “The Future,” a 15-track debut album built with producer Chief Double G.
The project closes a long path. Iceking, from Otukpo in Benue State, began experimenting with rap at seven. Freestyle clips first brought him attention, and then the 2025 EP “I’m Back” showed he could carry full songs. Now a complete album arrives, which is a big step for any artist at his age. Chief Double G produced every track, so the sound stays clean and consistent from the first beat to the last.
Three singles set up the release: “Dreams,” “No Competition,” and “Magic.” After them, the album fills out with playful and thankful moments. “Fyp,” “Away,” “Oyi’oche,” and “Money Na Cheche” cover the early run, and “Awilo” and “Vibe Check” add short bursts of attitude. The guests are a real selling point. Magnito appears on “Call You Back,” 2Baba joins on “Young Forever,” and Jumabee shares “Blessings.” The closer “Grateful” ends on a thankful note, which fits a project made with a lot of support.
Many tracks run just over two minutes, so the album moves quickly. That makes it easy to play straight through. For anyone watching the next wave of Nigerian talent, this debut gives a clear picture of where he stands today.
