Ugandan singer King Saha dedicates “Mpulira” to lovers, an Afro-pop single he calls a new one for them.

King Saha, born Mansur Ssemanda in Masaka, describes the song with those simple words, and the mood follows. He leans on warm vocals and Luganda storytelling to talk about the feelings that come with romance. The melodic instrumentation then keeps everything soft, so the single suits intimate listening and slow dancing. Some pages spell the title “Mpulila,” so you may see both versions.

Love songs are familiar ground for him. “Gundeeze” in 2016 became a favourite, and “Biri Biri” followed in 2018. He also worked on “Pretty Pretty (Remix)” with Feffe Bussi in 2023 and recently appeared on Dokta Brain’s “Buntu Butono (Remix).” So the new single fits a long run of songs about desire, devotion, and the right words for a special person. Listeners who know his catalogue will recognise the easy, charming style.

That charm matters. King Saha has never needed heavy production to make a love song work, because his voice and his Luganda phrasing do much of the job. “Mpulira” keeps that approach and leaves the arrangement gentle.

For fans of Ugandan Afro-pop who want romance without noise, this is a good evening record. It also makes a simple dedication to send to someone you love.
