Offset reunites with Don Toliver on “Every Night,” a Jodeci-sampling single ahead of his second solo album “GMFU.”

The song reworks Jodeci’s 1995 classic “Freek’n You,” and Jaasu produced it. He has credits with Don Toliver, Yeat, and Vict0ny, and here he adds distorted synths and rumbling drums to the sample. The result is a late-night record with a gritty R&B edge. Offset keeps his flow steady and tries a bit of singing, while Don Toliver adds soulful melodies and sings his own take on the Jodeci chorus. So the song feels like a love letter and a dare at once.

Offset has said the collaboration came naturally. He waited to ask his friend for a verse, and when he did, Don Toliver recorded two versions and struggled to choose one. That small detail shows how much both artists cared about the record. They also have a long history. They met on “Had Enough” from the 2019 JACKBOYS project, and then worked together again on “Worth It” from Offset’s 2023 album “Set It Off.”

The official video adds a casino setting, with the pair playing high-rollers under neon lights. Mikey Rare and SheShe Pendleton directed it, and the dark glamour fits the sample’s lustful mood. The single follows “Something I Need” from September, so Offset’s new era builds on a soulful, emotional side of his voice.

Reviewers have called it a track for grown-up late nights, and a few felt Toliver’s style sits slightly off the beat. Even so, the sample works, and the record keeps the album’s rollout interesting.

For fans of rap-R&B crossovers, this is a strong teaser.
