Virtual League of Legends girl group K/DA returns with a sharp new record titled “FIRESTARTER.” It features Miyeon and Soyeon of i-dle, plus Sophie Powers and Mimi Webb.
K/DA hasn’t released music in nearly six years, so the wait builds buzz. Miyeon and Soyeon, both from South Korea, have voiced Ahri and Akali since 2018. Fortiche, the French studio behind Arcane, animates the video.
The production on K/DA – FIRESTARTER leans on bright K-pop synths and a heavy low end. Sharp drums keep the pace tight, and the arrangement gives each singer a turn.
Soyeon takes the early spotlight with her rap, and fans already singled out her verse. She attacks the beat with tight, clipped delivery, whereas Miyeon floats over the chorus.
Canadian singer Powers adds a hyperpop streak as Evelynn, while English singer Webb gives Kai’Sa a dancer’s edge. The video even pairs a voguing scene with Soyeon’s rap. Its message points to confidence and owning the stage.
