German star Kerstin Ott strings three songs into one live Hitmix at “Schlagerbooom 2026” for 20,000 fans in Dortmund.
The medley joins “Regenbogenfarben,” “Die immer lacht,” and “1000 x Nein” in a single stage moment. It happened at the 10th anniversary show hosted by Florian Silbereisen in Dortmund’s Westfalenhalle, with Das Erste and ORF 2 carrying the live broadcast. More than 20 acts shared the bill, including Helene Fischer, Andrea Berg, and Roland Kaiser. Ott also sang the new duet “Ich weiß, was du brauchst” with Maite Kelly, and that song sits near the top of the Schlager charts.
Each song in the mix has its own history. “Die immer lacht” made her famous. She wrote it in about five minutes at a kitchen table for a sick friend, and the Stereoact remix turned it into Germany’s most successful song of 2016. It stayed 62 weeks in the charts and peaked at number two. “Regenbogenfarben,” whose title means rainbow colours, became the biggest Schlager hit of 2019 and has passed 249 million streams. “1000 x Nein,” her June single and the first taste of her next album, tells a story about self-protection and the strength to let go.
Ott grew up far from the stage. She trained as a painter and worked in that trade until the breakthrough. Her catalogue now totals more than 838 million streams, and every album has reached the German top five.
For African listeners who enjoy global pop and big live shows, this medley offers a window into Germany’s biggest Schlager party.
