Botlokwa-born lekompo vocalist Wendy Moon links up with Natiey Lepaka and producer DJ Tsp on Dipelo, a four-minute single.
Wendy Moon was born in Botlokwa and has said she chose lekompo over any other genre. Her song Metanso became a hit in the province. She also went independent after parting ways with a production company. Her podcast chat describes her as carrying the lekompo flag high.
Wendy Moon and Natiey Lepaka share vocals and songwriting, though DJ Tsp handled production. Shazam clocks it at 4:09. The Lekompo Music label tag sits on the Shazam page, while Amazon lists it as a Wendy Moon single.
Natiey Lepaka is no stranger to the scene, with credits on Bjaleni and 10 Gram. DJ Tsp also has another Wendy Moon credit, Kea Ntoa, which features Shebeshxt and Mr Diego. Wendy’s other credits include Theme with Hit Boss SA, Lady Amar and Mash K, so her catalogue is busy.
On Amazon Music, Dipelo sits at track 3, right after Moleseng with Percy5, Bl Zero, Moodee and Ice Cue. STM, short for Ska Telela Moreki, is another title on her page. Bump Dipelo at full volume and tell us in the comments – who steals the track for you, Wendy or Natiey?
