Amapiano star Masterpiece YVK links with Moonchild Sanelly, Bob Mabena and more on “Italian Job”, his album’s title track.
“Italian Job” is track 10 on a 14-song album released through YVK Records and Universal Music. Bob Mabena also carries a credit on the cut. Elsewhere on the album, Moonchild Sanelly joins Kamo Mphela and Jay Music, while Musa Keys and Young Stunna guest on other songs.
Moonchild Sanelly calls her sound future ghetto funk. Johan Hugo produced her third album, “Full Moon”. She has also appeared on releases by Beyoncé and Gorillaz. Bontle Smith, Buddy Kay and Tyrone Dee complete the lineup.
Masterpiece YVK was born Thabang Kganakga in Delmas, Mpumalanga, and grew up in Tembisa. He started as a community MC in 2013. Two earlier albums, “Son of a King” and “Ke Dezemba”, came later. Since signing with Universal Music South Africa, he has hosted a studio camp under the album’s name.
Another single, “Sang Sokodisa”, got a teaser with him and his guests around a gambling table. That imagery suits a heist-movie title, even though the album itself is pure amapiano.
Which guest pulls off the heist best once you press play on “Masterpiece YVK – Italian Job”?
