Didi B – SHOGUN IN LAGOS (Album)

Ivorian rap star Didi B brings Lagos and Abidjan together on SHOGUN IN LAGOS, a 23-track album packed with collaborations.

There is plenty happening on this project, especially for Nigerian music fans. Didi B has invited some familiar names from the Nigerian music industry, and the guest list alone makes the album worth checking out. Davido, Phyno, Zlatan, Young Jonn, Khaid and Qing Madi all make appearances.

One collaboration that should attract attention is “PARTY,” featuring Davido. The Nigerian superstar joins Didi B on a track that brings both artists together for the first time on this project. Phyno also appears on “GBEDU,” while Zlatan teams up with Chley on “Je m’appelle.”

Young Jonn gets his spot on “Raba,” and Khaid joins the Ivorian rapper on “MALADE.” Qing Madi appears on “ADIOS,” giving the album another Nigerian connection. These collaborations make the project particularly interesting for listeners following the relationship between West African music scenes.

Didi B does not depend entirely on guest appearances, though. Songs like “CEMAGO,” “MAMACITA,” “JAIYE,” “IGBO” and “MONA LISA” allow him to carry the music alone. He also brings in Ghanaian singer King Promise for “HOLIDAY” and South African star Focalistic on “FASHION NOVA.”

Musically, SHOGUN IN LAGOS moves between African hip-hop, Afrobeats, Coupé-Décalé and Amapiano. The project runs for approximately 64 minutes, with REPAT AGENCY handling the release and Sony Music Entertainment France responsible for distribution.

For Didi B, this is an opportunity to introduce his music to more Nigerian listeners while connecting with other African markets.
