Bro. Ifeanyi Ibeabuchi brings traditional Igbo gospel music to life on Mme-Mme, Vol. 2, an indigenous highlife project built around faith, life experiences and cultural expression.

This is one of those older Igbo gospel projects that deserves attention from listeners who appreciate traditional Nigerian music. Ibeabuchi uses his music to share messages that touch on everyday struggles, human behaviour and the place of God in people’s lives. Rather than following modern gospel production styles, he keeps the sound close to the traditional highlife culture.

The album opens with “Mme-Mme,” an extended performance lasting 13 minutes and 44 seconds. He follows it with “Menu M,” “Eluwa” and “Atughariwala.” Each recording gives him room to develop his message through indigenous expressions and traditional musical arrangements.

One track that listeners may already recognise is “When Money Dey.” The song explores the importance money can have in human relationships and how people’s attitudes can change when financial circumstances improve. It remains one of the familiar recordings associated with his catalogue.

Mme-Mme, Vol. 2 contains six tracks with a combined runtime of approximately 47 minutes. Vinosco Music Ltd. released the original album, while a later digital edition appeared under Delegend Production.

Bro. Ifeanyi Ibeabuchi’s music continues to attract listeners who enjoy indigenous Igbo gospel and highlife. His recordings carry the kind of cultural sound that many longtime fans of Nigerian music grew up listening to.
