Nigerian multi-talented artist MOEC drops his new “6IX” EP today, and it arrives as one of his most focused projects yet.
Six tracks, two features, and a clear creative direction throughout. That kind of discipline is harder to maintain than it sounds, especially for an artist who has spent years showing up on other people’s records. “6IX” finally gives MOEC a proper platform to tell his own story without interruption.
The project opens with “Somedays,” which sets a reflective, honest tone from the jump. “Eriwa” follows and deepens that cultural identity MOEC has always carried in his music. “Helper” holds the middle of the EP and delivers its most personal moment. The back half brings in two trusted collaborators, Evado on “Brother” and Kolaboy on closing track “Ewu Oji,” both of whom have appeared in MOEC’s world before and understand exactly what his music asks of a feature.
What makes “6IX” work as a body of work is how intentional the sequencing feels. Nothing is placed randomly. Each track builds on the last without losing the emotional thread running through the whole project.
