Aba-based comedian and street lyricist Akams bu Afam links up with Rapkid on a fast-paced new single titled “Egwu Ara.”
The record dropped on October 9, 2026. Its title reads loosely as “dance madness” in Igbo, and the sound follows that idea. Fast kicks and rolling basslines drive it, so the mood stays loud and playful.
Akams bu Afam brings an unusual background to the mic. He calls himself a self-employed comedian on his own profile, and his Audiomack page promises “comic relief.” So his humour does not feel borrowed. It sits at the centre of how he writes and how he times a line.
His catalogue shows the same Igbo-first approach. He released “Ochichi Tinubu” in 2023, followed by “Mbem Ikeji Izuogu” and “Ndi Ntu.” The albums “VOICE OF MAZI ORINSI” and its second batch arrived in 2025. Then came “Egwu Valentine” and “Private Chef” with Krakwise in 2026.
Rapkid adds a younger, bouncier energy on top of that base. The two trade Igbo bars and quick ad-libs, while the beat leaves them space to talk over each other.
Overall, the record leans on party spirit more than a deep message. It suits street crowds and dance floors well.
