Tanzanian gospel singer and songwriter Ambwene Mwasongwe is back with a new spiritual offering titled “Mzee Wa Siku.”
It’s a title that already carries weight, since it refers to God as the Ancient or Eternal One.
It has a very strong spiritual message urging believers to trust God, the Eternal One who is faithful at all times of life. Mwasongwe also doesn’t rush the message, he lets it settle slowly, as a real worship song should.
It is a reminder to the listeners of God’s everlasting power and wisdom, the same yesterday, today and forever. So it feels less like a performance and more like a personal moment of reflection turned into music.
Vocally, Mwasongwe stays calm and sincere throughout, never forcing the emotion to land.
