Zambian rapper Bobby East and Nigerian vocalist Ric Hassani team up with Frank Ro on a love-themed single titled “Understatement.”
The song came out on October 23, 2026, and it runs just over four minutes. Its central idea is simple. Saying “I love you” does not capture the full feeling, so the record argues that the phrase undersells it. That plain hook gives the song its name and its direction.
The writing credit tells its own story. Robert Chunga, Frank Phiri, and Ikechukwu Eric Ahiauzu all appear as writers, which maps to Bobby East, Frank Ro, and Ric Hassani. So all three artists shaped the words, rather than two guests dropping in on a finished song.
The styles also complement each other. Bobby East brings a rapper’s delivery, while Ric Hassani adds soulful vocals, and Frank Ro fills the middle with his own voice. That mix lets a Zambian rap base meet Nigerian pop-soul in one record.
An official video arrived alongside the audio, directed by K-Blaze and ERT. Zambian outlets also report that the trio aims to push the song beyond Zambia’s borders, and XYZ Entertainment sits behind the release.
