Port Harcourt-bred Mavin Records signee CupidSZN brings in Burssbrain on “Life of the Party,” a vibrant new Afrobeats single built for the room.

The Burssbrain connection is worth paying attention to. He is Rema’s touring DJ and live sound director – someone who has spent years inside the Mavin ecosystem shaping how that music actually feels in the air. So when he steps into a production role on “Life of the Party,” he is not just a feature name on the cover art. He understands the architecture of a song that needs to work in a crowd.

CupidSZN’s story itself is genuinely interesting. He grew up wanting to play football, then a Juice WRLD video in 2018 redirected everything. He started recording on BandLab over YouTube beats, posted freestyles on TikTok, and one of those clips – his “Jagajaga” freestyle – caught Ozedikus, the same producer behind Rema’s “Dumebi.” That chain of events eventually led to Mavin Records, where he dropped his debut EP Myth-Era. His father, a former musician, was the one who pushed him toward Afrobeats specifically, telling him to win at home before reaching outward.

“Life of the Party” follows singles like “Hashtag” and “Amuni,” and the title says exactly what CupidSZN is after – a record that makes you the loudest person in the room. For a 22-year-old still finding his footing at a major label, that kind of confidence is not noise. It is direction.
