DJ Jaivane wraps up *Mended Pieces* with “Ibele,” a six-minute and forty-two-second cut that closes out the fifteen-track album.
Luyanda Ndlovu and Zamani Siyamthanda Kubeka handled the writing and production, and it dropped through Ziiki Media in mid-September.
The record takes its time. Zem_sa’s vocals sit right at the front of the mix while the instrumental holds back, filling the space without fighting for attention. That patience is what makes it work. Nothing rushes to get anywhere. The groove just settles in and stays put, letting the album breathe out instead of forcing one last climax.
Listeners responded well to it. “Ibele” climbed to number five on Apple Music South Africa and was still holding at number ten weeks later. It also made an appearance on the YouTube Music Top 100. For a song tucked at the very end of a long project, that kind of run means people weren’t skipping it.
Drop a comment and let me know if “Ibele” was the right way to finish the album.
