Canadian rap and R&B star Drake’s “Marvins Room,” the drunk-dial classic from “Take Care,” is back in conversation.

The song dates from 2011, so this is a throwback rather than a new drop. Its latest moment came in July 2026. A crowd at the NOCTA Manor party sang it back to Drake. He stood there almost embarrassed and did not join in, which fans found funny.

The song tells a simple, awkward story. Late at night and a few drinks in, Drake rings an ex and shares his thoughts on her new partner. It sounded vulnerable to some listeners and soft to others. Rolling Stone treated it as comic heartbreak, and the split reaction only added to its legend.

The title carries a backstory. Drake named it after Marvin’s Room, the Los Angeles studio Marvin Gaye created in the 1970s, where he recorded the song. Noah “40” Shebib produced it, and Adrian “X” Eccleston plays guitar. Chilly Gonzales adds piano, and Syren Lyric Muse supplies extra vocals. The track runs 5 minutes and 47 seconds, which is long for a single.

Fans still rank it among his best. Users on review sites call it a top Drake song and one of the greatest heartbreak records. That staying power explains why a party crowd can still sing it word for word.

Quick flag outside the post: this is a 2011 song, not a 2026 release. If you meant a fresh Drake track with a similar name, send me the title.
